(CMR) 57-year-old Wendell Scott was arrested on Thursday afternoon on suspicion of causing fear and provocation of violence and common assault after he is alleged to have attacked three women on Monday morning at Spotts Beach. The assault has caused quite a stir on social media after the victims shared their ordeal.

The Bodden Town resident was arrested around 3:00 pm just four days after the early morning beach incident took place.

The incident began in the early morning hours on Monday, March 21 when the paths of the three female victims and Scott collided. They noted that he was jogging on the beach and passed remarks about them being on his beach. They also shared how Scott assumed they were not from the Cayman Islands until he heard one speak and then he remarked that had they would have been assaulted.
One of the victims shared:
“he stated that thankfully we sounded Caymanian, because if we were foreigners he would have kicked sand in our faces & gone back up to the parking lot to retrieve “something from his truck” that would resolve the issue of us being on HIS beach.”
The victims describe a man who they say was out of control at their early morning beach stroll and “peaceful fellowship” time when he continually jogged past them and claimed that the beach was his. At one point they shared:
“The 3 of us were seated on the sand, this man was easily 6 ft tall & was looming over us. At this point, he is speaking very aggressively & gesturing with the water bottle in his hands towards us. We felt threatened by what he said & even more by his presence. As I picked up my phone to record the situation (my phone was in my lap), he turned to me & immediately, violently kicks towards my face.”
