(CMR) The police have arrested a 24-year-old North Side man under the mental health act provisions on suspicion of being a danger to himself and others and indecent exposure just five days after the made a public plea claiming that he was not a danger to anyone. On Sunday afternoon CMR understand that an arrest was imminent after he issued yet another social media video with his private parts being displayed.
They confirmed that this afternoon, Monday 21 March, shortly before 12.30 pm, police officers attended an incident on North Side Road, in the vicinity of Old Man Bay, involving a man who was acting erratically on the roadway and endangering himself and others.
He was arrested under the Mental Health Act, Section 7, on suspicion of being a danger to himself and others. He has been transported to HSA for a mental Health Assessment.
RCIPS shared that the man arrested had previously been under investigation by police in relation to recent claims of sexual assault made by him on social media last week. Police have been working with the relevant agencies to monitor the activities of this man. Today the man was also arrested on suspicion of Indecent Exposure, in relation to another social media video posted yesterday the 20 March. This matter will be dealt with after the mental health assessment has been completed.
