(CMR) Miss Alabama 2021 Zoe Sozo Bethel died on Friday after falling out of a third-story window in Miami, Florida, a week earlier. Police responded to a “possible suicide attempt” on 11 February at midnight. Bethel (27) was transported to the Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
Her cause of death was “blunt force trauma,” and her manner of death was ruled “accidental” by the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner.
“This was a tragic accident, and no foul play is suspected,” a statement from police said.
Bethel was in a coma for over a week before succumbing to traumatic brain injuries. A GoFundMe launched to support her family raised over $44,000 in less than a week. It was revealed that the beauty queen did not have health insurance.
“Our main goal in starting this Gofundme is to help the family out with medical & burial expenses, as well as provide her daughter with much-needed financial support that will secure her future in a regimented manner,” her family said.
Her family said that they did everything they could to save her. In a statement to The Post, Bethel's family said, “if she had a choice, she would still be here with us today.”
They had revealed earlier that doctors said they could not do much to save her.
“Unfortunately, the doctors are saying the damage cannot be repaired & that she may not have much time left,” the family posted on social media.
Bethel, the mother of one, was a conservative commentator who was involved with organizations such as Project Veritas, Liberty University, and Turning Point USA. She was also a reporter for Right Side Broadcasting Network and a brand ambassador and executive producer of Miss Liberty America.
