(CMR) A Jamaican Court House that is over 100 years old was completely destroyed by fire Sunday night. The fire reportedly started about 8 pm at the Brown's Town Court, which is in the parish of St Ann.
Three fire units, with multiple firefighters, battled the blaze, but could not control the fire, which completely gutted the two-story building.
Firefighters managed to put out the blaze near 11 pm Sunday.
Only the four stone and concrete walls were left standing by that time, a Nationwide News report said.
Police who assisted the firefighters managed to gain entry to the ground floor and saved some large books and reportedly secured two vaults.
Computer equipment, paper files, and legal documents were all destroyed.
