(CMR) Captain Perry Panton and First Officer Troy McCoy will be doing an over-fly at the Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CKIA) in Cayman Brac at approximately 5 pm today, so residents are encouraged to go out and catch a glimpse of our country's newest jet aircraft, VP-CIZ!
Residents in Little Cayman will also have the chance to see the aircraft as it passes over on its way to Grand Cayman where Captain Panton will also over-fly Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA) to show off to Grand Cayman residents before making the plane's first and historic landing – the arrival of VP-CIZ in the Cayman Islands concludes the airline's current five-year Fleet Modernization Plan which has seen Cayman Airways garner the accolade of having the newest jet fleet in the Caribbean at this time, after also being the first Caribbean-based airline to operate brand new Boeing 737-8 jet aircraft!
Cayman Airways' fourth B737-8 aircraft, VP-CIZ, departed the Boeing Delivery Center in Seattle, Washington at approximately 9am this morning, with an estimated arrival time in Grand Cayman at 5:32 pm this evening. The aircraft, which is accomplishing the flight nonstop, is in the command of Captain Perry Panton, alongside First Officer Troy McCoy.
