(CMR) Two men were arrested this week on suspicion of importation of ganja after their boast was intercepted by the Cayman Islands Coast Guard (CICG). According to the RCIPS, just before 1 am on Wednesday, 12 January, officers were conducting border patrols when they had cause to stop a local vessel in Cayman Islands territorial waters.
A package containing suspected ganja was recovered with the assistance of the RCIPS Air Operations Unit, and as a result, the two men aboard the vessel, age 33 and 35, both of West Bay, were arrested on suspicion of possession of ganja and other offenses relating to the importation of ganja. Both men remain in custody.
The incident is currently under investigation.
