(CMR) Police are investigating an incident of aggravated burglary and wounding following a disturbance in West Bay on New Year's Eve.
Reports are that shortly before midnight, 31 December, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in Flute Lane, West Bay. On arriving at the scene, it was reported to officers that a dark truck arrived at the residence, where a gathering was taking place.
Several persons exited the vehicle wielding machetes, and an altercation ensued. Two persons received serious injuries, and one person received minor injuries. All three persons were transported to the George Town Hospital.
Police visited the George Town Hospital, and while there, they arrested a 24-year-old male, of West Bay, on suspicion of wounding. The suspect was transported to the police detention center, where he remains in custody as investigations continue.
