(CMR) The Board of Governors of the University College of the Cayman Islands has appointed Dr. J.D. Mosley-Matchett to act as the Interim Acting President and CEO of the University College until Dr. Stacy McAfee's permanent replacement is confirmed.
Dr Mosley-Matchett currently serves the University College of the Cayman Islands as Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. A press release from the board shared that she joined University College in August of 2009 as a seasoned educator with more than a decade of successful teaching experience at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Her educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Business Administration and an MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington; a Juris Doctor (law degree) from the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas; and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineer Technology from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
It further noted that she led UCCI’s effort to gain accreditation from both organizations and is currently spearheading UCCI’s institutional preparations to achieve US-based regional accreditation. In 2015 she spearheaded the first-time institutional accreditation from the British-based Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges & Universities (ASIC). Then in 2017 the Business Studies Department obtained discipline-level accreditation from the International Accreditation Council for Business Education.
“The Board of Governors looks forward to further Academic achievements during Dr Mosley-Matchett’s term in Office and looks forward to working with her.”
UCCI Board Chairman, Gilbert McLean JP
