(CMR) Several fight videos have been making the social media rounds from over the weekend, showing women engaging in physical altercations whilst out at various bars on Grand Cayman. Two women were recorded fighting at The Station Bar off Shamrock Road Sunday night as many continue to encourage the police to increase their presence at such establishments.
It appears that these fights are drawing a crowd of onlookers as they are seen encouraging the women to continue fighting each other. Both videos involve two women fighting each other.
The longer video was from The Station Bar and the women are seen pulling each other's hair and rolling on the ground, at times exposing themselves as they “get down and dirty”. A sole lady decided to intervene and was eventually able to part in the fight. Initially, a man appeared to be trying to offer some assistance, but he gave up and walked away, mumbling under his breath.
The police have increased their presence at some known hotspots for past violent reports and CMR understands the police are looking into these fights as well.
Some community leaders are concerned that over the coming weeks, there could be an escalation in violence due to increased crowds and incidents such as these escalating. The videos have gone viral and are causing some to question the degradation of society.
