(CMR) A single vehicular accident around 2:30 am took out a Rotary Central bus stop and a palm tree in the vicinity of Amelia Restaurant on Crewe Road. Eyewitness reports are that when they opened the door to assist the male driver he was found lying on the passenger side of the vehicle with his foot on the wheel.
Residents in the area heard the crash from inside their homes and ran to provide some assistance where they found just the driver in the vehicle. Some confirmed that he had been seen “driving erratically and speeding” shortly before the crash.
The ambulance and fire rescue arrived shortly after to render assistance and he was taken away by ambulance. He did not appear conscious at the time. His condition is unknown.
