(CMR) A woman who flew on a Cayman Airways flight from Kingston, Jamaica to the Cayman Islands on 9, September despite having a positive COVID-19 PCR test has been charged.
The traveler, a 28 year-old-woman, has now been formally charged with Failure to comply with Regulation 3(1)(b)(i) of the Control of Covid-19 (No.2) Regulations, 2021 (SL 39 of 2021).
She will appear in the summary court tomorrow 2 November at 10 am.
All 84 passengers on Cayman Airways flight KX605 had their mandatory quarantine period extended and were monitored closely after it was discovered that the woman who tested positive for COVID-19 was allowed on the flight.
Cayman Airways had also launched an investigation into how the woman was allowed to board the flight despite having a positive PCR test.
