(CMR) John Felder is not likely to be awarded any money from his recent default judgment against Sandy Hill, Content Manager at CMR if a creditor has his way. David Reid obtained a default judgment against Felder on September 19, 2018 for CI$125,067.25 and is still seeking to have that paid. Felder has made no payments on the debt and now Reid is seeking to obtain a Garnishee Order for the judgment Felder recently won.
This is the second time that Reid has applied for a Garnishee Order against money that Felder has been awarded. The last Garnishee Order was against the Cayman Islands Government in May 2019. In that instance, the Notice was not served and the hearing date was vacated because a third party entered into negotiations for the purchase of Cayman Automotive Leasing Ltd. which would have discharged the judgment debt.
This third party is likely Larry McGean who attempted to purchase the Company from Felder before Felder was terminated and the company was placed in litigation. According to the Joint Liquidator's report on Cayman Automotive Leasing, Felder accrued at least US$364,000 in judgment debt.
If that current request is successful it would mean that Felder would never see a dime of the CI$105,000 that Justice Carter awarded him in September against Hill.
The hearing will be held in mid-November for Reid to show cause for his Garnishee Order request. Contacted for comment, Hill would only confirm that her matter is being appealed to the Court of Appeal on a number of legal points.
