(CMR) Numerous reports have been received about vehicular break-ins at Smith Road Villas at least since Mondy night. Just this morning alone CMR received at least 6 additional complaints about overnight break-ins at the residential community located in Geroge Town. There have been at least eight cars in four days broken into.
Residents have reported that overnight at least four additional vehicles were broken into. However, the glass on the vehicles is not smashed. Instead, the perpetrator is using some sort of a device to pry open or unlock the doors of the various cars.
Some vehicles may have been inadvertently left open.
One person who had their SUV ransacked shared that they appeared to almost rip out the car seat in the search for loose change or hidden valuables. off Crew
A woman reported that she was victimized several nights ago and last night they went after her husband's car. They are ransacking through the vehicles searching for money and other valuables to steal.
One person noted that after waiting for the police for several hours this morning she gave up and went to work.
Smith Road Villas has about 100 homes in the community.
Some wondered if this could be the work of a man who was caught on CCTV camera early Wednesday morning attempting to break into the home of an elderly lady off Crewe Road.
