(CMR) Bermuda is reporting ten more COVID related deaths as its Minister of Health The Hon. Kim Wilson, JP, MP warned people to seek medical attention and not rely on treating themselves at home with remedies being shared on WhatsApp and social media.
Monday evenings announcement brings the COVID-19 death toll to 63 for the small island nation. The minister also expressed concerns that many were waiting until it was too late to seek medical assistance after testing positive for the coronavirus.
Announcing the weekend deaths she expressed great sadness and noted that:
“It is with extreme sadness that I report that over the weekend, Bermuda has experienced ten more coronavirus-related deaths. My heartfelt condolences and prayers are extended to the families and friends who lost a loved one over this weekend.”
There are 66 people in hospital with ten of them in the intensive care. Five of the latest positive results has a recent travel history.
The minister also encouraged more people to get vaccinated sharing that almost 90 per cent coronavirus-related deaths were among those who had not been vaccinated against Covid-19.
