RUMOR: The following rumors have been widely circulated this afternoon mainly on WhatsApp chat groups.
FALSE: CMR reached out to the Commissioner of Police to confirm them and we are placed to share that these rumors are false.
The police confirmed that:
- There is no lockdown at BTPS.
- The CoP RCIPS has not made any request for lockdown, to any person.
The Bodden Town Police station responded to a domestic incident report Saturday evening and a female said to be in quarantine left the location and could not be located until this morning. The matter was reported to Public Health and fully investigated. The female was located this morning and has been dealt with by Public Health and an RCIPS investigation has commenced.
As a safety precaution officers dealing with the domestic violence incident last evening remained on restricted duties until the matter was reviewed by Public Health this morning and all officers were cleared to resume full duties.
