(CMR) A woman managed to escape without harm after a man broke into a house in East End on Tuesday and threatened her with a knife.
Police reports are that at about 1:45 am on Tuesday, 22 June, officers responded to a report of an aggravated burglary at an address off John McLean Drive, East End. A woman at the residence was awoken by a masked man who had entered the residence brandishing a knife.
The man revealed himself to be someone known to her and made threats against her before the woman was able to get away. The man took personal items from the location and left the scene before the arrival of officers. No one was injured in the incident.
Shortly afterward, officers located the suspect at another location and arrested him on suspicion of aggravated burglary. The stolen items were also recovered.
The man has since been formally charged with Aggravated Burglary. He appeared in court on Thursday, 24 June, and was remanded in custody, pending a further appearance on Friday.
