(CMR) After concerns in the community about the recent hospitalization of a COVID-19 person, Public Health has confirmed that there is no need for alarm and contract tracing has been completed.
The statement was issued this afternoon after it was divulged earlier today that several people were placed in quarantine after a man was hospitalized with a “highly symptomatic” infection. Some of those quarantined include Health Services Authority employees. CMR explained earlier how the quarantine traveler came in contact with a resident as he was taking the garbage out on Friday and subsequently collapsed according to sources.
Many were quick to question how the health professionals were not aware that the man was COVID positive on his last day of quarantine. However, Public Health would only share that contact tracing and testing had been carried out and that despite some persons being placed in isolation there was no risk to the public at this time.
It was confirmed earlier that the patient was not vaccinated and did not test positive upon arrival. He was quarantining alone in a private residence.
