(CMR) Newly elected Premier Wayne Panton and Governor Martyn Roper had their first weekly meeting yesterday, Thursday, April 29.
Governor Roper described their first meeting as “an opportunity for us to discuss matters of importance to Cayman and for me to understand how my office and I can best support the Government.”
This week I briefed the Premier on a range of security and law enforcement issues, we discussed civil service support to new Government, financial services, concerns about vaccine take-up, and plans for the Premier’s new Ministry and possible UK support,” Roper explained in a post on his Facebook page.
The Governor said he looked forward to a close and productive working relationship with the Premier and the new Government.
