(CMR) The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service has confirmed that a police officer has been arrested on Friday by the RCIPS Criminal Investigation Division after a complaint was received relating to an alleged sexual assault.
He has been suspended from duty pending further investigations and submission of a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions. He has been released on bail, without any charges at this time.
CMR was alerted to the incident over the weekend when it was alleged that Bajan Police Constable Anthony Marshall has been arrested for sexual assault along with a female companion, Ericka J. Lynch. She has also been released on bail awaiting a ruling from the DPP's office.
He is a member of the Firearms Response Unit (FRU) and is originally from Barbados but is believed to have come to Cayman via Turks & Caicos.
Lynch is said to be employed at WORC. No confirmation at this time if she has been suspended.
