(CMR) The Jamaica Constabulary Force is searching for the boyfriend of a woman who was found with her throat slashed at her home in Spanish Town, St Catherine on Sunday.
The body of Tamika Richards (37), an events promoter, was found by friends after they were unable to reach her by phone.
“We get a ladder and put it upstairs and start to knock on the door, but we didn't get a response. Eventually, her two sons that live with her opened the door,” one of the woman's friends told Jamaica Gleaner.
After not hearing any sound coming from Richards' bedroom, which was locked, they forced their way in.
They found her lying on her back in a pool of blood with her throat slashed, and her hands crossed over her chest.
Richards was reportedly trying to end the relationship with her boyfriend, with whom neighbors said she had many fights.
The police asked Rhiyeme Woodhouse, 27, to turn himself in for questioning on Monday.
