(CMR) Jamaica's State Minister in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn, has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Member of Parliament for St Andrew West Rural said she has not been able to carry out her duties as usual due to having the virus.
“Having COVID-19 and being a representative of the people has been a challenge. I am unable to visit my projects happening now, and I have asked my councilors to assist at this time,” Cuthbert-Flynn wrote on Twitter Monday.
The former olympian had high praises for the staff at the Spanish Town Hospital where she was treated.
“My fellow Jamaicans, let us try and continue to do our best to keep each other safe…Spanish Town hospital staff, kudos to you all for the care I received. I observed your gentleness with the patients,” Cuthbert-Flynn tweeted.
Meantime, Jamaica continues to see a drastic increase in the number of positive COVID-19 cases in the country.
The country recorded 587 new cases on Saturday and 806 cases on Sunday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 31,305.
