(CMR) Social workers came together at the historic Smith Cove on Friday for a photo opportunity organized by the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
Using the scenic location as a stunning backdrop, members of the social services agency were joined by Ministry of Community Affairs Chief Officer Teresa Echenique and Deputy Governor Franz Manderson for the photos.
“Social Work Month is a global observance which we are very passionate about committing to in March,” said DCFS Director Paulinda Mendoza-Williams.
Mendoza-Williams said the celebration of Social Work Month under the theme ‘Social Workers are Essential’ reflects the outstanding commitment and flexibility of the human services sector in the Cayman Islands throughout the pandemic.
“The Department of Children and Family Services’ social workers quickly identified innovative ways to provide the essential services that they are relied on to perform in supporting our communities most vulnerable. I am proud at how DCFS acquitted itself during these challenging times,” Deputy Governor Manderson, head of the Civil Service, said.
Along with large group shots, staff from Family Services, Community Development Services, Elderly Services, Adoption and Foster Care Services, Youth Services, Family Services, and Senior Management Team also took team pictures.
