(CMR) Two men were arrested in West Bay on Wednesday after police found a quantity of ganja and cocaine at two separate residences.
According to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, officers from various units of the RCIPS, including WBPS uniform officers, CID, K-9 Unit, and Community Policing Unit, had cause to execute two residential searches along Watercourse Road in West Bay.
During the search of the first residence, a quantity of ganja was found, and as a result, an 18 year-old-man of West Bay was arrested on suspicion of possession and consumption of a controlled drug.
During the second search, officers located and seized several packets of substances believed to be crack cocaine and what is believed to be two potted ganja plants.
The police said a bottle containing unknown tablets was also seized during the search for testing purposes.
A second man, age 49, of West Bay was arrested in relation to the findings from this residence. He was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug (cocaine), possession of ganja, and other drug-related offenses.
Both men were taken into custody and later bailed pending further investigations into these matters.
