(CMR) Two medical facilities were robbed last week after thieves broke into both facilities overnight. The police have since arrested one man.
The RCIPS said that on Friday morning, February 12, officers responded to a report of a burglary at a medical facility on Smith Road in the vicinity of Pines Drive.
The burglary occurred sometime between 6 pm on Thursday, February 11, and 7 am Friday. The culprits took a safe containing cash, along with cash from two cash tills, totaling over CI $3000.
Also, on Friday morning, officers responded to a report of a burglary at a medical facility on Earth Close, off West Bay Road, which occurred sometime between 7 pm on Thursday and 8 am Friday. The culprit took a quantity of cash from the facility totaling over CI $700.
Shortly after 1:15, following investigations conducted by officers, a 26-year-old man of George Town was arrested on suspicion of burglary in relation to the incident at Earth Close.
A search was conducted of the man and his vehicle, and a quantity of suspected ganja was recovered. He was also arrested on suspicion of possession and consumption of ganja. He was subsequently granted police bail with conditions.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
