(CMR) West Kingston, Jamaica, is now on edge after a community leader was shot and killed on Sunday.
Harry McLeod (51), otherwise called ‘Harry Dog,' was shot and killed by unknown assailants on Darling Street at about 7:50 am.
Reports are that McLeod was standing at a roadway when a car with several men aboard opened fire hitting him, then sped off.
He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
McLeod was said to be the right hand to kingpin Christopher “Dudus” Coke, who was arrested on drug charges and extradited to the United States in 2010.
Residents in West Kingston fear reprisals for his killing. There are reports of people avoiding the area, including the busy Downtown commercial district, because they fear that there may be gun battles at any time.
A video circulated on social media platforms with men engaged in a gun battle is believed to have happened in the area. This was not confirmed.
