(CMR) Two Jamaican cops were charged after it is alleged that they solicited $70,000 JMD from a farmer.
Constables Headley Gray and Orlando Webster of the Trelawny Division were arrested and charged for Breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act on December 16, 2020.
Reports are that both policemen were on a pre-dawn operation on September 13, 2019 in the Stewart Town area of the parish.
A motor vehicle was intercepted and a man seen with five goats aboard, for which he could not give a proper account.
It is alleged that the policemen solicited JMD$70,000 from the owner of the goats to have them returned.
