(CMR) The police have confirmed that they are investigating reports of dog poisonings in West Bay after several dogs succumbed to an unknown toxin.
They shared that the RCIPS is aware of messages circulating on social media regarding the possible poisoning of dogs in certain areas of West Bay. Nothing that they were also aware of an incident on 9 December, where three dogs were found to be ill by their owner and were taken for emergency veterinary care, resulting in two of the dogs having to be euthanized. The RCIPS will continue to monitor the situation in the district, as they seek to deter any criminal activity and offer advice to pet owners, alongside their colleagues at the Department of Agriculture.
Anyone who has any information about these incidents, or who suspects their animals may have been poisoned, is asked to contact their district police station.
