(CMR) A 41-year-old man of a George Town address was arrested in connection with the incident that took place on Sunday (December 6) where a man was reported to have been assaulted with a firearm.
The man has since been charged with Possession of an Imitation Firearm with Intent to Commit an Offense, Assault ABH, and Harassment, Alarm or Distress.
Reports are that at around 12:00 am on Sunday, police received a report of shots being fired in the vicinity of Vic's Bar located along Seymour's Rd, George Town.
One man who was at the location attended the George Town Police Station with an injury to the head and reported that he was hit in the head with a handgun by a man at the location on Seymour's Rd.
The man was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital from the GTPS via ambulance. He was treated for what is believed to be a non-life-threatening injury and later released. No other persons have reported injuries to the police at this time.
