(CMR) Despite government regulations prohibiting the hosting of parties, Jamaicans continue to attend such events which are increasingly the site of violent crimes.
Most recently on Saturday (November 28) a 24-year-old man lost his life at an illegal party held in Portmore St Catherine.
Reports from the police are that about 11:15 p.m., a party was in session in the area when gunmen opened fire at the patrons.
The Police were summoned and a search was conducted when two men were found with multiple gunshot wounds.
They were transported to hospital where one was pronounced dead and the other man admitted for treatment
The dead man has been identified as twenty-four-year-old Chade Stephenson of Beverley Flat, New Land, St. Catherine.
In recent times at least three people have been killed at illegal sessions, with even a police man having lost his life trying to shutdown an event held in breach of the Disaster Risk Management Act.
