(CMR) The police have confirmed they are investigating one of several accidents that occurred Monday.
Just after 6:00 p.m. yesterday 23 November, police and other emergency services were dispatched to the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of two-vehicle collisions that took place at the junction of Bobby Thompson Way and Smith Road.
The collision involved a silver Lexus motor car with one occupant, traveling on Bobby Thompson Way heading towards Huldah Avenue and a white Pontiac motor car also with one occupant, traveling on Huldah Avenue, heading towards Smith Road. As a result of the collision, both parties sustained injuries and were taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment for what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. Both were later released from the hospital.
The Cayman Islands Fire Service also attended the scene of the collision due to apparent gas leaks from the vehicles involved in the collision. Both vehicles were removed by wrecker from the location.
The collision is currently under investigation by the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call 649-6254 during daytime business hours.
