(CMR) Did rapper Lil' Wayne endorse President Donald Trump who is up for re-election in less than four days?
No, well not publicly at least. However the rapper received major flak on social media platforms after he posted a photo of himself posing alongside the president following, a meeting Lil Wayne had with Trump on Thursday ( October 29).
According to the rapper, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., during his meeting with the president he discussed the “Platinum Plan”.
The Platinum Plan unveiled in September 2020 aims to provide a capital injection of $500 billion worth of investment into the African American community.
In a tweet after the meeting the rapper lauded the president for his past work on criminal justice reform and openly endorsed his proposed “Platinum Plan”.
“Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump@potus besides what he's done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done,” tweeted Lil Wayne.
However Lil Wayne's tweet did not go down well with his fans, with many trashing the artiste for being a “sell out” and a ” pawn for Trump”.
“Our brother is lost and confused,” Tweeted one user.
“Did you ask him why he decided to meet w/ you less than a week before Election Day? When are some of y’all gonna learn? You’re not a high priority if someone takes a meeting with you 5 days prior to an election; but you jumped at the opporcoonity to be used,” added another user.
Lil' Wayne is one of at least three rappers that the president has met with, the first being Ice Cube.
While none have definitively supported Trump, their gesture of meeting with him has roused suspicions, particularly given the proximity to the election day.
