(CMR) Rapper Offset was taken into police custody on Saturday after he drove through a Donald Trump rally in California.
The 28-year-old Migos rapper who was on IG live during the run in with the cops, could be heard telling the authorities that he wasn't going to remove his hands from the steering wheel.
One police officer is heard saying, “We were told that you guys were waving guns at people”, while the rapper denies the claim, one US media outlet reported that Trump supporters have accused Offset of chastising them.
According to a statement released by the Beverly Hills Police Department Cardi B's cousin, Marcelo Almanzar, was arrested and not Offset as originally reported.
“Shortly after 5PM, Beverly Hills Police received information from a passerby of a subject who pointed a weapon from a vehicle at him. The passerby provided a license plate to the vehicle, and the vehicle was stopped by patrol units a short distance away. After the on scene investigation, the passenger in the vehicle [Almanzar] was arrested,” read a statement from the police
Almanzar faces concealed weapon charges and carrying a loaded firearm in public. He is being held on $35,000 bail.
Offset was not charged in the incident, though there have been reports and some video which show that Trump supporters may have damaged the rapper's car.
