(CMR) The outer bands of Tropical Storm Zeta are producing heavy rains across Jamaica, which has forced the country's Met Service to maintain a flash flood warning which was set to expire on Saturday.
Tropical Storm Zeta formed early Sunday morning and has been producing showers all across Jamaica with major roadways all across the island left flooded and impassable.
According to the Meteorological Service of Jamaica, the outer bands from Tropical Storm Zeta, are responsible for heavy rainfall the island is currently experiencing.
The storm is forecasted to be moving away from the island, across the Yucatan Peninsula and into the Gulf of Mexico over the next few days.
The latest update from the Miami-based National Hurricane Centre revealed that the storm was located near latitude 18.0 North, longitude 84.0 West.
Zeta was said to be meandering or nearly stationary, but generally moving in a north-westward motion.
The center of Zeta is forecasted to pass south of western Cuba early Monday and move near or over the northern Yucatan Peninsula or the Yucatan Channel late Monday.
