(CMR) Travelers continue to spike Cayman’s COVID-19 numbers making it clear that re-opening borders without the strictest protocols poses an extreme danger to the people of the Cayman Islands.
The Chief Medical Officer, Dr John Lee, reports 345 COVID-19 tests have been carried out since this was last reported on Thursday, 15 October. Eight were positive.
This brings the island's total active cases to 20.
The eight individuals reported today are all in travellers in isolation, a mixture of people at the end of their quarantine and those arriving.
