(CMR) Jamaica has recorded 65 new COVID-19 cases bringing the island's tally to 8,132.
The country now has 4,209 active cases of the virus, with close to 200 patients in hospital for COVID-19.
Jamaica also recorded two new COVID-19 deaths pushing the number of fatalities from the virus to 162.
The deceased are a 61-year-old male from St Ann and a 73-year-old male from St Mary.
St Catherine continues to see a spike in cases, as well as, Kingston and St Andrew and St James.
While curfews remain in place for the island, requiring all Jamaicans to be indoors by 8:00 p.m., very few new measures have been implemented to slow the spread of the virus though the country is working to procure the drug remdesivir, despite conflicting information on its usefulness in treating the illness.
