(CMR) Anthony ‘Tony' Hart a prominent Jamaican businessman died early Thursday morning (August 20).
Hart was 87-years-old.
Following Hart's passing Prime Minister Andrew Holness expressed condolences to his family.
The PM in a post on his Facebook page described Hart as a Jamaican stalwart and legendary businessman, noting that his life exemplified service, having served in many sectors including politics.
“I extend heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. May his soul rest in peace and light perpetual shine on him,” said Holness on his Facebook page.
Hart ran as a candidate for the Jamaica Labour Party in 1972.
He was inducted into the PSOJ Hall of Fame and he was awarded Jamaica’s fourth highest honour, the Order of Distinction, Commander Class, for his distinguished and faithful service.
