From a dog being painted by a political supporter, to supporters stepping out in eye raising outfits nomination day was filled with the usual excitement that accompanies the activity which reveals who will contest in the general election.
At the end of the day's activities the island's electoral commission revealed that 139 candidates had been nominated, including two candidates who were unable to physically attend the nomination centres because they were in self quarantine.
Of the 139 candidates, the island wil see thirteen independent candidates contest the September 3 general election.
