(CMR) A UK man is currently awaiting surgery to have his penis, which is currently located on his arm, reattached to its normal location.
According to British media reports, Malcolm MacDonald lost his sexual organ following a blood infection which caused the body part to fall off.
MacDonald told British media that in 2014 he had suffered from a perineum infection that spread to his fingers, toes, and later his sexual organ.
MacDonald said following the loss of his sexual organ, he took to drinking as a means of coping.
“Because I had been through the devastation of knowing I was going to lose it, I just picked it up and put it in the bin,” MacDonald told British press.
MacDonald said he learnt from his general practitioner that Professor David Ralph dubbed the “penis master” may be able to assist him.
Following a meeting with Ralph and his team, MacDonald said the London’s University College Hospital professor told him he could perform an arm-graft procedure.
The procedure was funded by the government as it would eventually allow Mac Donlad to urinate properly.
MacDonald was able to receive an additional two inches during the surgery something he agreed to.
“When I saw it on my arm for the first time I was so, so proud. After everything I had been through it didn’t feel weird at all — it was just a part of me,” he said.
Though acknowledging that it is strange to have his sexual organ on his arm, MacDonald told British media he was just happy to have his penis back.
Surgeons formed the sexual organ using MacDonald's own blood vessels and nerves ; they created a urethra and installed two tubes inflated with a hand-pump, allowing him to achieve an erection.
MacDonald is now awaiting a surgery for his penis to be finally transferred to its proper location, however there have been significant delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
