(CMR) On Sunday (July 19) Jamaica recorded 16 new coronavirus cases bringing the island's tally to 790.
The majority of the new cases are imported, most arriving on flights from the United States with two of these cases being contacts of confirmed cases (import-related).
The new confirmed cases consist of 10 females and six males.
The cases were recorded in St Ann, Clarendon, St Catherine, Westmoreland , St James, Manchester , Portland and the Corporate Area.
Despite the increase in COVID-19 cases Jamaica's recovery rate continues to improve with the island recording 693 recoveries bringing the island's recovery rate to 87.7 per cent.
Five persons of interest are in quarantine at Government facilities, while some 18,604 persons are quarantined at home.
