(CMR) A serious early morning assault occurred in George Town leaving a man in serious condition at the George Town hospital.
Police reports are that shortly after 3:30 am today, 18 July, officers responded to a report of a serious assault at a service station on Shamrock Road, near Selkirk Drive. A man was assaulted following an altercation with another man not known to him, who struck him with an unknown object.
The victim received lacerations to the neck and a dislocated shoulder and was transported by private vehicle to the Cayman Islands Hospital. The suspect fled the scene in a motor vehicle. The victim remains in hospital in stable condition.
The suspect is described as being in his late 20s to early 30s, about 5’7” in height, and was wearing a white shirt and jeans.
The matter is currently under investigation and anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any info, is asked to contact George Town CID at 949-4222.
