People don’t believe me that I got it twice. But I have the one from the hospital and the one from April 15, I was following the orders since the beginning of March…wearing a mask, I was doing the gloves, the hand sanitizer. I was doing everything right…what did I do wrong
(CMR) The evidence is mounting that any immunity received from a coronavirus infection may be extremely limited if at all. A teary-eyed Los Angeles woman, Mary, recently shared with local US news outlets that she tested positive a second time “despite doing everything right.”
Health officials in the US are reporting numerous cases of people getting the infection for a second time after fully recovering. Mary, who has decided to not disclose her last name, is one such case. She initially tested positive for the virus in April.
At that time the virus presented itself with a sore throat and a relative informed her she may have been exposed to the virus. A test confirmed her worse suspicions and she tested positive. Following doctor's orders she self quarantined for the recommend 14-days and followed her doctor's instructions.
A follow-up test in May was negative showed that she had recovered from the virus. However, at the end of June, she started to feel unwell again and had to be taken by ambulance to the emergency room due to breathing difficulties.
The hospital conducted another test which came back positive. This time around she had severe symptoms that required hospitalization for two weeks and enhanced treatment. She was just released from the hospital last week and wanted to share her harrowing experience with others as a cautionary tale.
She continues to have symptoms and is taking vitamins and other medications for treatment and remains concerned that she could catch the virus again.
There have been others across the USA who have shared similar stories of being infected twice.
