Trust me, this hit me like a ton of bricks. I've been living in my friend's living room for 2 months with 3 children and planned to start moving today and this happens! It's unfair that I saved this money so my kids could have a comfortable place to sleep at night and this thief just came and took it all.
Single mother of 3
(CMR) A single mom in West Bay is pleading to the compassionate side of a thief after they broke into her car on Birch Tree Hill Road and stole KYD $2,400 of rental money she had saved up for months. The money was to secure a safe place for her and her children to live.
The incident happened sometime between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am when the money was taken from a locked glove compartment in the vehicle. The gray Hyundai Santa Fe was parked near the public road and access was gained via the passenger side of the vehicle which was parked extremely close to a wall. She was planning on moving today and has now been dealt a severe and unexpected blow.
She is devastated after living in her friend's living room for two entire months to save up this first month's rent and deposit to move into an apartment with her three children.
The wallet also contained her IDs and debit card but she is just hoping they will not allow her family to suffer any longer and simply return the money. Despite hoping that justice could be served she would settle for just getting the funds back.
