(CMR) Elvis McKeever (60) of Watering Place, Cayman Brac has been sentenced to 12 months probation and some 50 hours community service today in court for possession, cultivating and supplying some 48 marijuana (ganja) plants.
McKeever was arrested back in May 2019 and has since been involved in an active campaign to fully legalize marijuana adopting his slogan “no weed no vote”.
Her sentence, considered lenient, by many did not include a fine. His probation order is said to not include a prohibition for him to not use the drug as the judge felt he was likely to continue using it.
