(CMR) As of Tuesday (June 16), the Cayman Islands has confirmed six new coronavirus cases, according to updated figures on the COVID-19 dashboard.
The positive results are derived from a batch of 993 COVID-19 tests that were conducted last week.
In a press release on the matter, Chief Medical Officer, John Lee said the six cases are suspected to have resulted from local transmission.
To date, the Cayman Islands has had 193 cases of COVID-19.
The ministry says that of the number of cases only 71 cases are considered to be active.
