(CMR) It is bad news for Dream Weekend revellers.
The popular Jamaican party event that sees people flocking to the island from as far away as Norway will not be held this year due to the dangers of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Event organizers made the revelation on Monday (June 15) noting that the party weekend would return come August 2021.
Dream Weekend was originally slated to be held in Negril from August 5- 9 2020.
“After numerous meetings and continuous dialogue with the various Ministries of Government that governs entertainment in Jamaica, we have been advised that due to the continued danger of COVID-19, large festivals like our beloved Dream Weekend Jamaica will not be permitted to happen during the summer of 2020,” read a statement from party organizers.
“We remind you that for both tickets bought online or offline (e.g. from an outlet), our No Refund Policy has been clearly stated. Please be advised that all tickets purchased will be automatically valid for our new dates: August 5-9, 2021,” added organizers.
Organizers also said that since there are no refunds on tickets, they will facilitate name changes
and ticket transfers free of cost to all ticket holders.
Those requiring such amendments are urged to reach out to Dream Weekend via email.
