(CMR) Jamaican singer, Millie Small, most known for her 1960s single “My Boy Lollipop” has died.
According to her friend and former producer, Chris Blackwell, Small had suffered a stroke.
Small who was 73-years-old was hailed for her contribution to the popularization of the Jamaican musical genre, Ska.
Small's mega-hit “My Boy Lollipop“ was Jamaica’s first million dollar-selling single and is one of the world's top three greatest all-time hit singles of 1964.
The singer/songwriter released three albums during her career, the LP ‘My Boy Lollipop', 1965's ‘Sings Fats Domino' and 1970's ‘Time Will Tell'.
Small leaves behind her daughter, Jaelee, who is also a London based musician.
