(CMR) The police confirmed earlier today that they have launched an investigation into the allegations of a breach of curfew by the Minister of Health's wife, Tiffany Seymour. The RCIPS has indicated that after receiving a number of complaints a formal investigation has been opened into the matter.
CMR first reported the alleged breach after an Instagram video was posted on Tiffany's page. Self-dubbed “First Lady Seymour” shared the video of her doing abdominal exercises and leg lifts. There was significant public outcry for the authorities to look into the matter as many are living with the shelter in place provisions.
The ensuring questions presented to the minister created a media firestorm on social media and in the press with the premier asking for the country to drop the matter. However, it appears the matter will not be dropped at least by the authorities.
Since the initial report, others have contacted CMR to state that they personally witnessed Seymour exercising at the Bodden Town play field earlier in the week where she invited a man they assumed was a stranger to assist her with her workout. Those eyewitnesses alleged that both were wearing masks but she later took hers off to conduct the workout.
A snapshot of the video was shared with CMR while some argued that the evidence may have been an old video. However, CMR has always maintained the authenticity of the date of the video would be easily obtained by any competent forensic analysis.
Seymour initially addressed concerns about his wife's potential actions by sharing a nonsensical parable about the virgin Mary and a donkey. Seymour has never directly addressed the allegations, however, the premier went to bat for him yesterday afternoon during the press briefing where he indicated he was assured the accusations where unfounded.
