(CMR) There are multiple police officers at the scene of the Port Authority's Cargo Distribution Centre (CDC) location off Portland Road and adjacent to Shedden Road. CMR has received word the situation is dire and causing multiple containers to be damaged and falling over.
Sources indicate user error is the cause of the problem with “operators not knowing what they are doing.”. The large machine used to move them is not being operated correctly.
However, another source shared that the equipment is the issue and not the operators sharing:
“The trucker could have died because of this crane system that has been malfunctioning for weeks and the port chooses to ignore the truckers' complaints until now looks like. We need this system gone from cayman waste of money and time.”
This is a developing story and will be updated once more information is available.
