(CMR) An armed robbery has occurred this eventing shortly after 9:00 pm at the Tortuga Liquor Governor's Square. Exclusive CMR sources indicate that several males ran off in the vicinity of Safehaven and multiple armed units including K-9 were in pursuit. CCTV footage picked up three men with two actively robbing the store and a third acting as a lookout.
We understand that a woman, likely an employee, in the store had her foot cut during the incident. Sources are uncertain as to how she got injured. Police have the area blocked off at the moment. Heavy police presence is on West Bay Road.
There is no helicopter support available at this time.
Sources indicate that a black vehicle – most likely a Honda Accord has been quartered off by the police.

The RCIPS has now confirmed the following:
Shortly after 9:00 pm yesterday, 7 February, officers responded to a report of a robbery at Tortuga Liquor in Governor’s Square, Lime Tree Bay Avenue. Two males entered the store, brandishing knives, and demanded cash from an employee there. One of the men assaulted the employee and both males then made off on foot with a quantity of cash, one of them fleeing towards the rear of Cost-U-Less. Emergency services attended the scene and the employee was transported to the hospital for treatment, and later discharged.
The suspects are described as being dressed in all black clothing, long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and gloves, with their faces covered.
The matter is currently under investigation and anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time or who may have any other information is asked to contact the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
