(CMR) A Canadian couple visiting the Cayman Islands is unable to currently travel after thieves broke into their vehicle on Thursday afternoon and stole their travel documents and other valuables. They have reached out to various social media platforms including CMR in hopes that someone will be able to assist them in locating their Canadian passports.
The culprits accessed items left in the car trunk by breaking the passenger side window as the couple enjoyed an afternoon swim and tour around the island.
The car theft has left them stranded with limited funds and no travel documents after they decided to spend the holidays in the Cayman Islands. Victoria Ark has reached out to various online mediums to spread the word of her stolen items and seeks some form or possible solution. Otherwise, they are left stranded in the Cayman Islands until the Canadian government can assist with emergency travel documents.
Being optimistic Victoria share:
“We are still making an effort to enjoy the beauty of the island while we are ‘stuck' here. Hopefully, we get some good news soon.”
They also lost phones and cameras with their vacation memories on them. The list of items stolen is substantial and includes:
-Two Canadian passports
-Two wallets with IDs, credit cards, debit cards, and cash
-Huawei P30 phone
-Huawei P30 Pro phone (and all of our vacation memories)
-DJI Mavic Air Drone

-One adult 3MM swim shirt (black/pink writing)
-A backpack full of clothing and a bunch of other miscellaneous items
